My beloved Azamgarh , is a district of UP, which was founded by Azam Khan in 1665. Azam Khan was the son of Mr Vikramjeet , who was a Rajpoot of Mehnagar. Vikramjeet had a Muslim wife, who bore two sons Azam Khan and Azmat Khan.
There are two Nagar Palikas in Azamgarh district, 1st is in Azamgarh and 2nd is in Mubarakpur. Mubarkpur is situated 16 km east at district headquarter.
There are many schools, colleges and universities in Azamgarh district. Shibli National College is the oldest educational Institute of Azamgarh, shibli national college was founded by Shibli Nomanai. Shibli Nomani was a great and famous scholar of Islamic culture. Shibli Nomani established an academy, Shibli academy (Darul Musannefeen) is a largest urdu library of Asia, this library is situated about 1 km distance of shibli national college. DAV degree college, children college, Jyotiniketan etc. are also famous.
My beloved Azamgarh, its a land of scholars, the land of Azamgarh has been producing world class scholars,scientists,doctors,engineers, political leaders, Film star, poets , musician etc.
Mapandit Rahul sankrtyayen was a great writer, historian, and freedom fighter. He was born in Azamgarh. Allama Shibli Nomani , Maulana Wahiduddin Khan, Maulana Aslam Jairajpuri were famous Muslim Writer, Educationist, Poet. Azamgarh gave us a great poet , he was Kaifi Azmi , he wrote anything for bollywod, Kaifi Azmi’s daughter Shabana Azmi is bollywood film actress, she is also a politician.
Amar Singh, Abu Asim Azmi, Ram Naresh Yadav are political Leaders of Azamgarh district.
